OP del Pesce at Seafood Expo Asia 2026

The fourteenth edition of the festival closed on Friday, September 4th. Seafood Expo Asia / Seafood Processing Asia, The international trade fair for fishing and aquaculture, which from September 2 to 4 brought together operators from 35 countries and 22 national and regional pavilions at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore. Italian companies had already been present at previous editions of the fair, but this year, for the first time, Italy presented itself with a real national pavilion, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry (Masaf) — designated by the organizers as one of the new national pavilions in 2026, alongside British Columbia (Canada), Jeju Technopark (South Korea) and the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. The Italy pavilion brought together ten companies from seven Italian regions — Campania, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Sicily and Veneto — with the aim of opening new commercial outlets on the Asian market.

OP del Pesce he took part in the event with his own stand within the Italy Pavilion.

A pavilion in the center of attention

The Italy Pavilion was inaugurated on September 2 in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Singapore, Dante Brandi, the Senior Minister of State of Singapore, Low Yen Ling, and the top management of the General Directorate of Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture of Masaf, led by Graziella Romito. During the three days of the fair, the stand hosted a packed program of B2B meetings, workshops, cooking shows and tastings, also curated by Coldiretti Pesca, designed to present the Italian fish heritage to buyers, distributors and operators in the Asian restaurant sector, with an emphasis on quality, traceability, food safety and sustainability.

At its own stand within the Italy Pavilion, OP del Pesce recorded a constant influx of importers, distributors, foodservice buyers and industry journalists.

Interventions at the fair

During the three days, several institutional and technical events related to the Italian presence took place: panels, workshops, meetings with delegations, presentations of innovative products for the sector. These opportunities have allowed for a deeper understanding of the topics of interest to Asian buyers: the origin and traceability of the product, sustainability certifications, and the ability to adapt the product lines to the different demands of local markets.

The institutional dinner for Made in Italy fish products

To complete the mission’s program was the dinner organized by the Ministry to promote Italian fish products abroad, a convivial moment designed to strengthen the relationships between the companies of the delegation, the Italian institutions present in Singapore, and the local business and institutional interlocutors. The dinner took place at the Italian ambassador’s residence to strengthen the importance of Italy as a supplier in Singapore.

This opportunity confirms that the promotion of Italian fish abroad increasingly takes place not only through the trade fair stand, but also through direct interactions between companies and institutions, which are useful for consolidating the credibility of "Made in Italy" fish products in the most dynamic markets in the world.
